Ken Tremont Jr. gets by Tim LaDuc during feature
race action at Devil's Bowl on Sunday July 25th.

Mike Bruno (22) tries to slip past Don Mattison (10) by
using the inside line. Mattison, however, seems most comfortable
on the high side and came across the line third, with Bruno
in fifth after Ken Tremont later got around him for fourth.

ATTENTION PRO STOCK / SUPER STREET TEAMS!!
new dates for Devil's Bowl Speedway

The third Pro Stock / Super Street Challenge is now on for
Sunday, August 1st at Devil's Bowl Speedway! This will be
Brown's Quarried Slate and Farm Stand Night at Devil's Bowl.

We would also like to announce Challenge #4 on
Sunday August 15th (Heritage Family Credit Union Night) and
Challenge #5 (Seniors Night) on Sunday August 29th.

7/30/10: After two rainouts in a row, finally a good weather forecast for tonight at Malta. Should be a fun night with Black Flag Night for the fans and an enduro to cap off the evening.

7/20/10: Tech bulletin posted re: no gear rule at Devil's Bowl this season.

7/17/10: Tech bulletin now posted for modifieds / sportsman. Article posted regarding Tri-Track Series rainout at Albany-Saratoga in Press Releases.

7/8/10: Tech bulletin now posted regarding Modified tire rule.

7/7/10: Tech bulletin has been posted regarding gear rule for both Albany Saratoga and Devils Bowl Speedways.

7/6/10: Unfortunately, we have made the decision to postpone the karting program for this year. Several things factored into our decision, primarily the cost of paving the small track and starting a new program of karting while the Town of Malta is once again questioning how often we can legally run events.

We offered the opportunity to the karters to run the big track, but many of them are not comfortable with that, and we don't blame them. There are more costs associated with the big track as well as other issues. It is still our desire to have a successful karting program at Albany-Saratoga, and we may yet, but it will remain a desire and not a reality for this year.

We would like to thank Darryl and Jordan and the karters who supported it for helping us to get this program race ready, and we'd like to apologize to those who will be disappointed with this decision. We're disappointed too.

6/21/10: Pit gates will be open at Malta at 4:30 from now on as announced at the pit meeting on 6/18.

6/17/10: Rules updated for sportsmen (we are allowing one small internal mirror) and renegades (we are allowing a rear spoiler) ... please see the tech bulletin and/or re-download the rule book. Remember to refresh your browser after you see the pdf file so that you get the current version.

6/16/10: Track rental is now available at both of our facilities. Test and tune, get your car set up the way you want it. In order to help teams afford to spend some quality time at the track, we have dropped the minimum rental time to 1 hour! Plus... we are currently offering any CVRA members a 50% discount on the rental rates. This means that a CVRA team owner with a current membership can rent a track for as little as $150, and bring up to three teams with them! The regular rate is $300 per hour, but we will cut that in half for our teams. Please note that due to insurance regulations, only ONE car is allowed on the track at a time.

So get a few cars together, call us and reserve a date and get some quality time at the track. Share your knowledge, learn from others, we're all in a learning curve with the pavement and we want to do what we can to help you out.

Click the "rent the track" button on the toolbar for rates and information.

6/14/10: ATTENTION MODIFIEDS! Tires are in at Malta as noted below on 6/7/10 blog entry. Devil's Bowl modifieds have one race left to run any tires they choose.

6/10/10: ATTENTION PRO STOCKS AND SUPER STREETS! Devil's Bowl has announced two new events for pro stocks and super streets (they'll run together)! The first race is 20 laps on June 20th ($250 to win, $50 to start) and the second race is 50 laps on the 4th of July ($500 to win, $50 to start). Both events will have a tow money program in place. Any car towing from more than an hour away from Devil's Bowl is eligible. You MUST sign up by calling the office at 802-265-4613. No exceptions! Cars enrolled in the tow money program will receive tow money in addition to any purse money. Call the office for details and to sign up for the tow money program. Click on the Devil's Bowl schedule above for more information.

6/4/10: Rules updated for pro stocks, renegades, bombers and dukes regarding mirrors. Remember, if you've previously downloaded them, refresh your browser once you pull them back in to your computer.

5/24/10: Both Albany-Saratoga and Devil's Bowl have made the decision to expand the Tow Money Program (see CVRA program below) to regular Airborne Park racers. This is for Modified, Sportsmen or Renegade teams that would like to travel to either Malta on Friday nights or Devil's Bowl on Sunday nights. If you are a current Airborne racer and you sign up for the program, then when you attend either CVRA track, you will be eligible to receive tow money. Please be aware that this program is for Airborne regulars only. You MUST contact Sharon at the main office to enter your team in the Airborne Tow Money Program. Those teams that are interested can call Sharon at 802-265-4613 Monday thru Wednesday for more details and to join the program. Please note unless you call first, you can NOT be entered in the program.

Four cylinder cars at Devil's Bowl may be eligible to receive one free pit pass. Call the office at 802-265-4613 for details.

Keep in mind that cars from other speedways may be requested to make changes such as added weight in the interest of competitive parity.

5/18/10: The 1st Annual All Car & Truck Show has been rescheduled at Albany-Saratoga for September 25th. See the schedule for details.

5/13/10: Both Albany-Saratoga and Devil's Bowl have instituted a Tow Money Program for 2010. This is for Modified, Sportsmen or Renegade teams that may be planning to race at both tracks. It will be based on your owner's membership as to which track is considered your home track. When you attend the other track, you will be eligible to receive tow money. Please be aware that this program is for our members only. Your car must be registered as an owner at either DBS or A-S in order to be eligible, and you must contact Sharon at the main office to enter your team in the Tow Money Program. Those teams that are interested can call Sharon at 802-265-4613 Monday thru Wednesday for more details and to join the program. Please note unless you call first, you can NOT be entered in the program.

Also to clarify the blog post from Devil's Bowl on 5/4/10 regarding Airborne cars and home track rules: this is meant for Airborne cars, it is not meant for Devil's Bowl cars to be able to purchase tires at Airborne and then run them at the Bowl, nor is it meant for Devil's Bowl cars to be set up with Airborne rules and expect to run at the Bowl weekly. HOME TRACK RULES mean just what they say. Please don't intentionally misinterpret the statement or the intent.

5/11/10: Rule books revised for all full fender cars, internal mirrors are now permitted.

Sportsman will be allowed to run ANY USED tire at both tracks. All NEW tires must be CVRA track tires.

5/6/10: TIRE NEWS: As of next week, tire day at Albany-Saratoga will now be every Thursday from 10:00-2:00. If you need tires at other times, you can call ahead and set up an appointment with Bruce at 518-857-0761.

5/5/10: For those race fans returning to the track this year, we are no longer requiring you to buy food tickets at the concession stands. We are accepting cash at the food windows, however, we will accept no bills larger than $20. If you need to make change for a larger bill, our front gate staff can do that for you. Thank you for your understanding.

5/4/10: There have been some questions regarding car owners. In 2010 CVRA will NOT require car owners to be registered members. However, if you choose not to become a member, you MUST fill out the proper paperwork before your car will be inspected and allowed to race. Of course, if you purchase a membership you will save money at the pit gate. Also please be aware that check cashing privileges are ONLY extended to members. This includes the tire barn! If you want to have the convenience of giving us a check, you need to become a member.

Non-member owner forms are available at the track.

4/13/10: Enduro rules updated re: sunroof removal. If you've previously downloaded the enduro rules, remember to refresh your browser.

4/12/10: Rule updates posted for modifieds and sportsman re: tire bleed valves are allowed, plus front end clarifications. You can access them on the forms/rules page.

4/9/10: MINORS IN THE PITS AT CVRA TRACKS
1. No one under the age of 14 is admitted in the pits, ever.
2. If you have a minor age 14-17 coming into the pits, they must have complete (and sign by a parent/guardian) Minors Release. No one under 18 is admitted into the pits without one.
3. A copy of the birth certificate is required to accompany the Minors Release. Please be sure to bring one with you if you have a minor coming into the pits. Must show I.D. if asked for proof of age (this is enforced).
4. Minors releases may be obtained from our web site on the Forms/Rules page. It saves time if they are done beforehand, but they are available at the pit gate window also.

4/2/10: New this year at Albany-Saratoga ... LAWN CHAIR SEATING! We are going to allow lawn chair seating in the fourth turn area and also limited seating along the front stretch (in front of the elevated grandstand). More details to be posted soon.

So now when you download the book for your division, you will get everything you need in one file. If you have downloaded them before, click the link again and REFRESH after it loads. Then you should see the new file beginning with the cover page.

3/26/10:  TIRE NEWS For modified and sportsman teams: You will have three race meets at Albany-Saratoga and three race meets at Devil's Bowl to use up any Hoosier tires you may have left over. (Hards on the left and extra hards on the right).
